Websites that stand out Apps that work
One-person studio. Full-stack execution. No handoffs, no miscommunication — just sharp, considered work that gets results.
Every pixel is intentional. Every interaction considered. I design for the people who'll use it — and the impression it leaves behind.

Moments where you come in
This is a typical website. A small site is often live in three to four weeks.
Studio
I'm Elma Smit. I have been designing and building websites since 2002, and I still do it myself: from the Achterhoek, without account managers or juniors. Every project gets my full attention, start to finish.
Over twenty years of experience means I know what works and what does not. I use AI tools where they speed up the work, without cutting corners on craft.
Web designer and developer since 2002
Commitments
What you can expect from me when we work together.
-
One point of contact
You always talk to me, from the first sketch to launch. No account managers, no relaying.
-
Accessible by default
Every site I build meets WCAG 2.2 level AA. Not as an extra, but because everyone should be able to use your site.
-
Code you own
No lock-in to me or to an expensive platform. You get the code, the access and an explanation.
-
A fixed price up front
After the intake you know what each phase costs. No surprises on the invoice.
-
Fast and light
Sites that load quickly, even on a slow connection. Good for your visitors, for Google and for the climate.
-
Honest advice
Would something simpler serve you better? Then I will say so, even if it means less work for me.

Questions
Short, straight answers. Is your question not here? Feel free to email me. hi@creativemediaminds.nl
What does a website cost?
That depends on what you need. After a short intake meeting you get a quote with a fixed price per phase, so you know where you stand before we start.
How long does it take?
Usually seven to eleven weeks for a complete website, from intake to launch. Smaller is quicker: a small site is often live in three to four weeks. The planner above shows what those weeks look like.
WordPress or custom?
Both. WordPress when you manage a lot of content yourself; custom PHP or Laravel when your site has to do something special. I advise what suits you.
What does accessible mean, exactly?
That everyone can use your site: with a screen reader, with only a keyboard or with low vision. I build to WCAG 2.2 level AA and test with real assistive technology. For many online shops it has also been a legal requirement since June 2025 (the European Accessibility Act).
Do you maintain the site after launch?
Yes. Updates, security and small changes: we agree on what suits you, so your site stays in good shape after handover.
Do you work outside the Achterhoek?
Certainly. I work from Lievelde, but we can meet online just as well. In Dutch or in English.
